Cozy Time

‘We have had a lovely day. All the trees were covered with ice, and it shone like diamonds or fairy palaces’ Louisa May Alcott.

The daylight hours have shortened and the air has become chilly. In these times, we turn more to the comforts found within the walls of our homes. The cocooning season has begun.

Wintertime can be a very cozy time in our lives.
Within the pages of the January Victoria Magazines, the editors take us to wonderfully decorated homes that have created cozy corners to dream during the winter months.

During the winter months, we light fires and candles that envelope our rooms with warmth and glow as well as our inner spirits.

We bring out woolen blankets and quilts and casually lay them on the corners of couches, chairs and beds, inviting us to cuddle with warm cups of tea or cocoa, a good book or to simply dream.

'It was such a lovely day I thought it was a pity to get up'. Somerset Maugham

Winter months can be restorative and can charge our minds with inspiration as we dream of our gardens, projects and crafts we wish to put our hands to.

January is a time to begin anew, to plan, to dream and what better time is it to create cozy places in our homes to do these things –

I am constantly inspired by the timeless beauty found within the pages of Victoria magazine both classic and current.

I hope you take these winter days, dream, plan and envision the wondrous things ahead for you in this coming year.

This is a good time to restore our spirits as we spend more time indoors – to reflect upon what is important to us – to release ourselves from those things that are not lovely –
January and wintertime is a Delightsome time of the year.

Wishing you a very Delightsome day,
