Gardening Has Us
By The Heart
April is the
enchanted month, no matter where you are
– miracles begin in the garden.
“Spring has come once
more…lingering along through April and May in a succession of sweet, fresh,
chill days, with pink sunsets and piracles of resurrection and growth”.
L.M. Montgomery “Anne
of Green Gables”
Early in the morning
and late at night, the blend of
the fragrances from the Mock Orange, Roses, Snapdragons, Iris,
Violets
and more blend to an intoxicating scent.
You cannot seem to breath deep enough
to take in its nectar.
The greatest gift of
the garden is the restoration of the five senses. ~Hanna Rion
The sweetness of the
morning is enhanced by the chorus of song
from the birds – the activity of life
– of a day beginning anew.
In a story about
Ellen McClelland Lesser in the 1995 issue of Victoria magazine, Ellen is quoted
as saying, ‘love is only the beginning’. Even though we are ‘smitten by the
prospect of creating a wonderful garden, it takes hours of hard work and lots
of patience to make one come to life. For many gardeners, their toil takes
place in private” Nancy Lindemeyer.
In my garden there is
a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of
thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the
dreams are as beautiful. ~Abram L. Urban
Gardening is an
ever-changing ongoing process that reaps bountiful rewards. I am constantly in
awe by the first bud of a rose or
a peony – by the immergence of a volunteer flower – seeds from beloved blossoms
seasons past.
Spring has come once
more –
What a marvelous
blessing from God.
